About Dr. Kirk Wright, DVM

I'm Dr. Kirk Wright, a veterinarian. I graduated from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and have spent more than 20 years in practice. I owned a solo practice and now work in a six-doctor practice.

I started Empowered Pet Owner because the same questions come up in the exam room every day. What will this cost? Is this test necessary? What should I ask? Owners who understand their options make better decisions, and they are less stressed doing it.

How this site works

Everything here is general education. I do not diagnose pets or give advice about a specific animal on this site, because I cannot examine your pet through a screen. Your own veterinarian can. Read the full disclaimer.

Every article is written or reviewed by me before it is published. If you spot a mistake, please tell me at hello@empoweredpetowner.com.
